Kit Whitacre & The Chardonnay Boys
Kit Whitacre & The Chardonnay Boys
The Chardonnay Boys are coming at you crisp and high in tannins. Best served in stemless glasses with bagel chips and chevre on the side (though powdered guac will do), these micro-dosing, mimosa-pouring, Parliament-smoking rock-n-rollers were grooming grooves with one another back when pluto was a planet and polaroids had a purpose. They’re big boys now, in cut-off cords and tortoise-shell shades who found part of their sound at a Florida flea market on an 8 track tape. They prefer their fish from a can, their water filtered and they know a thing or two about succulents. They’re reverb-vintage soundscapers with psychedelic pop and roots blues in their veins, but have a strong penchant for yacht rock. So raise your glass and shake your ass, to the farm-raised, suburban born, hand-rolled and best served cold, Chardonnay Boys!
The Pineapples
The Pineapples
The Pineapples were formed in Port Chester NY in early 1990.

Their first two releases on Part-Trance Records, "Crystalline" [7" single], and the "Cacahuates" EP [12" 45rpm], were produced by the now-legendary Kramer, half of weirdrock duo Bongwater and proprietor of ShimmyDisc Records.

Pineapples' third release, 1992's "All For What" [2-song 7", 4-song CD EP] came out on KokoPop, Kramer's more pop-oriented subsidiary to ShimmyDisc. The following year, Pineapples went on an earth-shattering, box office-busting two-month tour of England and Scotland, where they released the UK-only "She Brings Me Down" [2-song 7", 4-song CD EP] on Placebo Records.

The Pineapples have since retired to separate, palatial South Pacific island estates, avoid the press at all costs, and regroup for semi-millennial reunion tours.
