Audio Revival
The Audio Revival story began at South Kingstown High School in Rhode Island when life-long friends Chad Flaherty and Benjamin DeFusco joined the local band Bridges Fell which would go on to garner success on the college radio scene in southern New England. During this time, Chad and Ben developed a strong musical chemistry with Chad on bass and Ben on drums.

Bridges Fell eventually disbanded and Ben enrolled in the school of percussion at Ohio State University, while Chad attended the University of Rhode Island. Fate would have it that on day one of college at OSU, Ben was paired as roommates with none other than fellow percussion major, Mr. Stephen Purcell. Their friendship was instant and they formed a band called Common Ground.

During this time, Chad’s younger brother Jake Flaherty was a star high school athlete for the South Kingstown Rebel football and track teams, while also singing in the jazz and chorus clubs. As a senior he was recruited by the Syracuse Orange football team as a linebacker, and signed with them upon graduation. He would later be named captain, an NCAA Academic All-American two years in a row, and earn the nickname “Mad Dog” due to his ferocity on the field.

At the end of his junior year at URI, Chad decided that he missed being around music and the recording studio. He enrolled at Full Sail University that fall in the Recording Arts program where he excelled and achieved top marks. Meanwhile at OSU, Ben decided that he too missed being in the studio. He also enrolled at Full Sail University one year later, where he excelled and met soon-to-be phenom engineer and producer Dave Clauss. They were fast friends, and knew they would make music until they were old and grey.

Not long after finishing at Full Sail, Ben and Chad decided it was time to strike out and try their luck in the real world, so they moved to NYC and formed the jam/rock band L-SKI. After finishing his studies at OSU, Steve gigged in various musical settings and bands while saving up money to move to NYC.

Having gone through a few drummers that didn’t work out, Ben asked Steve to join L-SKI upon his arrival in NYC. After many jam sessions, a grand prize at a Boston battle of the bands, and an EP called The Platinum Sessions recorded by a fledging Dave Clauss, L-SKI was eventually disbanded in 2011. During this time, Ben also toured as a guitarist with international superstar Wyclef Jean, seeing the world and playing for crowds sized in the hundreds of thousands.

In early 2012, Chad and Ben convinced Jake to move to NYC and they formed what is now known as Audio Revival, retaining Mr. Purcell on drums. Since then, Audio Revival has released one LP, two EPs, six singles, toured the east coast, and frequented many stages in the NYC and New England areas. Dave Clauss has become a highly sought-after engineer in the NYC and Nashville music scenes, winning four Grammys along the way. Audio Revival’s most recent EP 'Animals' debuted in the top 200 on the NACC and CMJ charts, and was nominated for Best Rock EP in the 15th Annual Independent Music Awards. They are currently working on their next album, an untitled EP which they consider their best work yet, due in late spring 2018.
