From my first band in HS (The Good Earth) to my most recent band (The Capricious Bastards), from soundtracks to commercials to platinum selling albums, and all the one off-tribute nights in between, I always strive to sing my heart out and give the audience the best show possible, while remaining true to myself.

Playing under my name rather than a Band Name is a huge step, but the timing felt right. Thinking aloud one evening in a roomful of musicians, I offhandedly said, "I should just play as Cid and get whoever's available to play with me." I was humbled and shocked when nearly every hand in the room shot up, especially since I hadn't called for a show of hands. β™₯ I took that as a sign! Thanks, Universe!

I am grateful for all the musicians and singers with whom I've been in the trenches throughout the years, our community is filled with such talent and loving grace.
The Phil Gammage Quartet
The Phil Gammage Quartet
Adventures in Bluesland are a New York-based roots music group featuring the original songs of Phil Gammage (lead vocals, guitar, blues harp) as well as a diverse selection of classic American covers. Joining Phil are some of New York’s finest musicians - Kevin Tooley (drums, vocals); Johnny Cement (bass); Robert Aaron (sax, keyboards); Don Fiorino (lap steel guitar); and occasional special guest performers. Adventures in Bluesland are based in New York and available for live performance bookings internationally.

While the band itself is relatively new, the collective works of this group of musicians is not. They have all played and recorded together in numerous combinations in the past as session and touring musicians. Their resumes are impressive and include working with a diverse range of artists including David Bowie, Julee Cruise, John Cale, Certain General, Melissa Etheridge, and others. In live performance, Adventures in Bluesland are an ever-shifting combination of incredible musicianship and kinetic dynamics between the players. For their audience, the interplay between the musicians is a one-of-a-kind experience.
